What would you want the candidates for the position of principal to know about our community?

  1. Monkton is a small, friendly community. There are two degrees of separation among the parents of Monkton Central School students.

  2. Monkton may not have a lot of ethnic diversity, but it seems to have wide socio-economic and political diversity, owing to the mix of farmers, Burlington commuters, self-employed entrepreneurs, etc., and folks of all political persuasions, from progressive to hard right. So be prepared for the fact that no matter what you do, someone will complain! Of course, someone will also be cheering, but probably not where you can hear it!

  3. The current staff is great and seems to work well together. We have been very pleased with the K-2 teachers and are looking forward to experiencing the older grades! MES is a busy place in our community.

  4. The Monkton Central School has become an important part of the community. The principal has been a huge support of the many activities which have positively affected the students and parents and other interested community members. As a "cheer-leading" parent of a fourth grade student, I have been extremely happy about the manner in which our school has operated and the time and excellence our teaching and support staff have shown.

  5. Monkton Central School has been a great school for our children. We love the fact that the school celebrates holidays (a lot of schools don't do that anymore). Our family hopes it continues with the new principal.
